On April 4, 2013 The Civil Coalition for Monitoring of the Electoral Process launches initiative for monitoring of the forthcoming Parliamentary Elections
The Coalition offers to political parties, registered for participation in the Parliamentary Elections
INTEGRITY PACT FOR FREE, FAIR AND DEMOCRATIC ELECTIONS IN BULGARIA
On April 4, 2013 at 11.00 am in “Sheraton Balkan Hotel” will be signed the Integrity Pact for Free, Fair and Democratic Elections in Bulgaria. The document is elaborated by 8 non-governmental organizations, which will conduct an independent civil monitoring of the forthcoming elections.
The aim of the Pact is to commit the political parties to the conduct of transparent elections campaign in accordance to the standards for publicity and accountability. The intention of the initiative is to prevent violations of the citizens’ voting rights, as well as to facilitate efficient organization of the electoral process.
The document envisions that the non-governmental organizations will implement civil monitoring, based on the principles of independence, political impartiality and constructive dialogue with all participants in the electoral process, but also to provide information about the monitoring results to the public.
The Civil Coalition invites all political parties, coalitions and nomination committees, registered by the Central Election Commission, as well as the non-governmental organizations, to support the initiative by acceding to the Integrity Pact.
